The cost is $375.00 including NY state tax for the 5 hour charter. I will supply everything we need to fish. For insurance purposes I am limited to a maximum of 3 anglers per charter. The boat is most comfortable with 2 fishermen on board, but one more or less is certainly workable. I am now booking trips for late April and all of May 2012. Dates and times can be discussed over the phone.

New York Angler Registry

License Requirement New York State no longer has a paid license requirement, however you are required to register with the NYDEC for free to fish for Striped Bass in this area. Simply click here to obtain you FREE license. This will avoid any delays at the dock on the day of your charter.

Your Trip
     
For your trip you will need:

• a lunch
• your camera
• hat
• gloves, and
• rain gear.

Sunglasses are a must for eye protection.  If possible wear comfortable non-marking shoes.  We experience complete extremes of weather so dressing in layers is highly recommended.  As a photography note bright colored clothing make the best pictures. If you have experienced motion sickness it is important to take Dramamine the night before your trip.

Catch and release is encouraged, however each angler is allowed to keep one fish 18" or longer. If you plan to keep a fish be sure to bring a large sturdy bag to put the fish in and a cooler with ice for the ride home. There are no facilities for me to filet your fish at the Marina. At the top of this page you will find a filet video that will show you how.

I will have a cooler with cold soft drinks on board and there are always extra snacks for us in the cabin. To provide a safe trip, alcoholic beverages should be kept to a minimum for everyone's enjoyment. This means 2 or 3 cans of beer per angler.  Hard liquor is not permited.

If you would like to take part in this exciting fishing call me and we can discuss the dates available. After you select a date a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 made out to Off the Charters can be sent to Capt. Bob Trenz, 1 Central Ave. Newburgh, NY 12550.

Once I receive your deposit the day is yours. I will call you the day before your trip to be sure we are ready to go. Please include your contact phone number and your selected date when you send your deposit.

There have been instances where the weather has produced unsafe conditions to fish. In such a case I will contact you as soon as I can and you can select another date or I will return your deposit.
